The Dreaded Glucose Appointment
K, it actually wasn't that bad. In fact, after downing half the drink in my first long sip, I thought it almost tasted kind of good for a second. It just tasted like a very sugary (and cheap brand of) orange soda. As I continued, it got a little bit harder, knowing I had to finish the bottle in five minutes and not really wanting to drink any more. Between sips I realized there was kind of a nasty aftertaste to the drink. But I finished it and drank a few sips of water for good measure.
Meanwhile, I had wasted so much time worrying about the drink that I had not had time to worry about the blood drawing. The nurse who did it asked if I ever passed out giving blood and I said no but that I almost fainted once (luckily my brother Payson was there to catch me). I told her I just need to be distracted the whole time because I tend to over think about it and then get light-headed from being so anxious. So she asked me a question and I turned my head and just started talking while she messed with my arm. I didn't look at all (usually I peek) and after it was fine! She did say, "Oh sorry!" at the end and I thought, "What does that mean?" because she hadn't hurt me at all.
Later at work when I took the tape and cotton off I realized I had two little bruises in the crook of my elbow. It kind of looks like a vampire bite. It freaked me out because that has never happened to me while giving blood before but everyone told me it's pretty common and that it's totally fine. I'm still alive so I would have to assume they were right.
Other than that, yesterday was pretty normal except there was an excessive amount of traffic around campus due to graduation. SO many people and so many visitors. Translation: SO many bad drivers all crammed together. It was pretty annoying but I tried to look on the bright side--graduation means spring semester which means almost everyone gets out of Provo! I will be the first to admit I LOVE when everyone leaves because there is way less traffic both on the road and on campus.
Also, Dalin had to be at work at 7am so lucky me, I had to get up at 6:15am, too. I actually used to be really good at getting up early thanks to early morning seminary back in high school. I used to be the one having to drag Payson out of bed to get to seminary on time...which meant 6am. Well poor Dalin is now the one practically dragging me. He can tell I really don't like to be touched or spoken to in the morning (I didn't have the happiest of faces on) so he pretty much just gave me reminders about the time and then went to the car to wait for me which usually makes me hurry up. I am sure I will get used to the new schedule eventually (especially once we have a baby getting us up at all hours of the night anyway) but it kind of stinks because there is almost nothing to do between 7am and 8am around here. No stores are open (I already checked Target) and I don't have to be at work until 10am on a normal day. If I were the exercising type that might be an option. Unfortunately, I'm not unless it's something fun (like cycling). On that particular morning (yesterday, I mean) I had plenty of time to drive by the hospital I'll most likely be delivering at and see where we're supposed to go (so I can hopefully guide Dalin where to drive me) and I even registered at the hospital. Three months early. But the lady said it was a good idea. And I have to say, if I had been in labor while answering those questions, I would not have enjoyed waiting around to share dumb things like my workplace's phone number and whatnot.
So anyway, I need to figure out what to do each morning between 7 and 10am. I suppose there is always cleaning to be done...blah!
What do you think I should do so early in the morning?
Are you an early morning person? (Or have you been forced to become one?)
What is your routine?

This post is just because
Why are there always seagulls at Burger King? It's like Burger King imports them...they probably do actually...to clean up all the spilled fries outside. I just thought of that today when I was getting breakfast there (don't worry, I went to my spin class after and burned all the calories anyway). We're nowhere near the ocean so why are they here??
Also, my pregnant belly has done it again. I tried on my new maternity shirt last night (it's from Target and I really love it) for Dalin, then I just went to the stove for a second to check the food and my dang stomach rubbed against something oily. So then I had a nice spot right on the front of the shirt. Quickly I soaked it in warm water and rubbed some Goo Gone on the spot (and some splatters that made their way onto the shirt from the frying pan), then I hung it to dry on our shower rod under our heater. So then, the next morning I do the same thing and when I come back from class in the morning, it is almost dry--there are only a few spots left. So I put the shirt on and head to work and what the heck--the spots never dry. Apparently they were grease spots from the Goo Gone because they never dried. And they look worse. Ahh!! Luckily the shirt has a bow I have been trying to hide them with.
Anyway, it's been beautiful here in Provo today. I seriously can't think of anything to complain about for once. I am no fan of Utah, but I will say that if the weather was always like it was today, I probably wouldn't hate it. Also, at work we had a barbecue and lots of people signed contracts with me, so that was a plus.
I installed a car seat in our car today. One, because someone wonderful gave it to us yesterday and I wanted to see if I could get it hooked up correctly, two, because we don't really have room for it in our apartment, and three, because I am just so excited to have a baby and I am already wishing she was here!!!!
I'm not sure what else to share...my belly and back are aching from the weight of my belly which is annoying and a tad worrisome since I'm just over halfway through. I cannot even imagine getting bigger than I am. I will probably need a wheelchair. Oh, and I just remembered that I am still mad that Target had NO maternity pants for a small person. Umm...sorry I'm the size of a teenager, but what am I supposed to wear for pants??? I've been wearing yoga pants like every day and those feel fine, but I want to wear jeans so bad! Target only had size 2 and XS, both of which were wayyy too baggy. I am not kidding. They looked like Aladdin pants on me. I sent a picture to my mom because they looked so stupid. I really do not want to spend very much money but it looks like I have no choice. I'll just buy one good pair and call it good. I did buy a belly band at Target, but I have yet to use it. I feel like it would be uncomfortable to just have unbuttoned pants on underneath that thing all day.
Before my belly grew, I went to Motherhood Maternity one time and tried on like four pairs of pants. Naturally, the only ones that fit me in width and length (I have short legs so pretty much all the pants are way too long) were the most expensive. I may just have to suck it up and spend the money on them though because I am running out of pants!!!!!!
Well, I need to go get things done around the house but if you have any ideas or suggestions for acquiring small maternity pants, I would appreciate it! I think I will probably just resort to dresses and yoga pants for now. I guess I had better get some laundry done...sigh
I hope everyone had a nice Thursday!

Day 14: Spontaneous Fun
I am grateful for making time to have fun.
Confession: In all honesty, I was not sure that I wanted to go to the King Henry activity last night, but it ended up being a blast.
We went to Hang Time in Orem with several residents from King Henry and it ended up being a blast. We jumped on the trampolines and played PIG on the basketball court and tried to dunk (fail--it's really hard for me to dunk even with the advantage of a trampoline). I got really tired and sweaty--it was great. Embarrassingly enough, that was probably the most exercise I've gotten in like three months.
But we had a great time and I would definitely go back. Hint, if you get the chance to go to Hang Time in Orem, I would take it!
Therefore I am grateful for spontaneous nights for fun. Sometimes, you just need it.
As you can see, this place is big and cool.
I hope we can go back sometime soon!!!!
